Delete Your Account
This page is for RinkTally, the youth hockey stats app for coaches and parents. You can delete your account and its data yourself from inside the app, or ask us to delete it by email — either way it is permanent and cannot be undone.
Cancel your subscription first
Subscriptions are billed by Apple or Google, not by us. Deleting your RinkTally account does not cancel one. On iPhone or iPad: Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions. On Android: Play Store → Profile → Payments and subscriptions → Subscriptions.
Option 1: Delete it in the app
Open RinkTally and go to Settings → Delete Account. You'll be asked to confirm, and the account is deleted immediately.
Option 2: Ask us by email
Email support@rinktally.com from the address on the account, with “Account deletion request” in the subject line. Sending from that address is how we confirm the request is yours — we can't delete an account on the word of a different address.
We reply to confirm, and complete the deletion within 30 days of the request (usually much sooner). You don't need to still have the app installed.
One exception: an account created without an email address — the Just here to watch a game? option — has no address for us to verify a request against, and lives only on the phone that made it. Delete it from Settings on that device. If you no longer have the device, the account holds nothing but a record of which players it followed.
What gets deleted
- Your account and sign-in identity, including your email address.
- Your profile and your membership of any team, as a coach or as a parent.
- The link between you and any player you were connected to as a parent.
- Any player you created yourself, outside a coach's roster, along with the games and stats tracked on that player.
- Your own parent tracking sessions and the stats recorded in them.
- Anyone you follow, anyone following you, and any follow codes you created — the codes stop working.
What is kept, and why
If you coach a team, the team itself is not deleted. It loses its coach, but the roster, schedule, games, and stats stay — those belong to the team and to the parents who tracked alongside you, and deleting your account shouldn't erase another family's season. The same applies to a player added to a team by a coach: the player record belongs to the team, not to your account.
Support requests you sent us are kept as a record of the conversation, with your account no longer attached to them.
Purchase and subscription records are held by Apple and Google under their own policies, and we can't delete them on your behalf.
Deleted data can persist in encrypted database backups for up to 30 days before those backups roll off. It is not accessible in the app during that time.
