Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of the RinkTally app and website (“RinkTally,” “we,” “us”). By creating an account or using RinkTally, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app. For how we handle your data, see our Privacy Policy.

Who Can Use RinkTally

RinkTally is for coaches and parents 18 or older who sign in with an email address or with Apple. Kids don't create their own accounts or sign in — coaches and parents enter and track player information on their behalf. By using RinkTally you confirm you're an adult and that you have the authority to enter the team and player information you add.

Your Account

You sign in with a one-time code sent to your email, or with Apple — there's no password to manage. You're responsible for keeping access to your email account or Apple Account secure, since that's how RinkTally verifies it's you. Let us know right away if you think someone else has accessed your account.

Coach, Parent, and Follower Roles

A coach creates and manages a team, invites parents, and can see all game and tracking stats for players on their roster. A parent is linked to one or more players by coach invitation, can track their own player's stats, and can control whether their player's tracking data is visible to the coach. You're responsible for the accuracy of the roster, game, and stat data you enter.

A follower is a family member or friend who has redeemed a follow code for a player. Following is read-only: a follower can see that player's live and final scores and the goals recorded in their team's games, and nothing else about the team. Followers cannot enter, edit, or delete any data.

If you create a follow code, you are choosing to grant that access. Share codes only with people you intend to give it to, and not publicly — anyone holding a code can redeem it until it expires, reaches its redemption limit, or is turned off. You can turn off a code or remove a follower at any time, and a coach may disable parent-created codes for their team.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use RinkTally for anything other than tracking youth hockey games and stats for a team you coach or a player you're connected to.
• Enter false, misleading, or another person's information without authorization.
• Attempt to access another team's data or another user's account without permission.
• Interfere with or disrupt the app, its infrastructure, or other users' use of it.

Your Content

Roster information, game events, and stats you enter remain yours. By entering it into RinkTally, you give us permission to store, process, and display it back to you and to other users on your team (subject to the visibility controls described in our Privacy Policy) so the app can function. We don't claim ownership of your data, and we don't sell it.

Subscriptions & Payment

RinkTally is free to use. Some features require a paid subscription, which you can buy from the Upgrade screen in the app. Which features are free and which require a subscription can change over time; the Upgrade screen always shows what is currently included.

Plans

Coach Pro is for coaches managing a team, and RinkTally Pro is for parents and individual players. One RinkTally Pro subscription covers every player you track, however many that is. Each is available as a monthly or yearly subscription. Prices vary by region, and the price and billing period that apply to you are shown in the app before you confirm the purchase — that displayed price is the one that governs.

Automatic Renewal

Subscriptions renew automatically. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, your subscription renews at the same price and billing period, and your account is charged within 24 hours before the period ends.

Cancelling & Managing Your Subscription

Purchases made in the app are processed by Apple or Google, not by us, and are managed in your store account — on iPhone or iPad, Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions; on Android, Play Store → Profile → Payments and subscriptions → Subscriptions.

Cancelling stops the next renewal. Your subscription stays active for the rest of the period you have already paid for, and the app returns to the free tier after that. Deleting the app, or deleting your RinkTally account, does not cancel a subscription — you must cancel it in the store account you bought it from.

Refunds

Because Apple and Google process these purchases, refunds are handled by them under their own policies, and we cannot issue them directly. There is no refund for the unused portion of a current billing period except where required by law or granted by the store.

Price Changes

We may change subscription prices. A change never affects a period you have already paid for, and Apple and Google will notify you and ask for your consent before any increased price is charged on renewal, as their policies require.

Team Plans & Promotional Codes

Team plans bought on our website are billed separately by us through our payment processor, on the terms shown at checkout, and are cancelled from your account on the website rather than in the store. Promotional and coupon codes grant access for a set period. They have no cash value, cannot be exchanged or transferred, and access ends when the period they granted expires.

Availability & Changes

We may update, change, or discontinue parts of the app at any time, and we'll do our best to give notice of anything that materially affects your data or access.

Termination

You can stop using RinkTally at any time by signing out or asking us to delete your account (see our Privacy Policy for how). If you have a subscription, cancel it separately in your store account first — deleting your account does not cancel it or stop future charges. We may suspend or terminate access to the app for anyone who violates these terms or misuses the service.

Disclaimer & Limitation of Liability

RinkTally is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind. We work to keep the app accurate and available, but we don't guarantee it will be error-free or uninterrupted, and we're not responsible for decisions made based on the stats it records. To the fullest extent permitted by law, RinkTally isn't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws applicable to RinkTally, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. We'll update this section with a specific state and venue once that's finalized.

Changes to These Terms

If we make material changes to these terms, we'll update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continuing to use RinkTally after a change means you accept the updated terms.
