Tracking on your own
If your child's coach doesn't use RinkTally — or you just want your own record — you can track your player without a team, an invitation or anyone else involved. Nothing you record is shared with anybody.
Anything marked Paid needs a subscription. Everything else is free.
Getting started
Choose Track My Playerwhen the app asks what you want to do, then type your player's name. That's the whole setup — no team, no jersey number, no code.
Tracking a game
Track [name]'s Game, optionally type who they're playing, and begin. Big tiles, one tap per event.
Simple counts touches, shots, goals and assists. Advanced adds passes made, passes received and penalties. Switch between them any time, including mid-game, and choose between a grid layout and stat rows.
Every tap can be undone, either from the toast that appears or from the Recent taps list. Periods end when you say so, and you can go back a period if you tapped ahead by mistake.
It all works with no signal — everything is stored on your phone and uploads when you're back in range.
Shot Tracker Paid
Turn it on and each shot or goal opens a half-rink; one tap records where it came from, and you get a shot chart afterwards. Three games are free per player you track, and a game only uses one when you actually save a location.
Afterwards
Each session gets a recap — the stat tiles, how long it ran, the full list of what you tapped, and a notes field. Share Recap turns it into a text summary.
Every session is kept. Open one to see the detail, or Editto correct a count by hand. You can also add a past session for a game you didn't track live — pick the date and enter the numbers.
Once there are a few sessions, trends Paid charts any stat across the season and compares the second half with the first.
What you don't get
Without a team there's no roster, no schedule, no live score from a coach, and no team stats — there's no coach and no team for them to come from. The Team tab shows what those look like, greyed out, so you can see what you're missing.
There's also no privacy switch, because nobody else can see your data in the first place.
Joining a team later
Two ways this happens, and both keep your history.
A coach invites you
If a coach adds your child to their roster and invites you, the app notices you're already tracking that player and asks whether it's the same person. Say yes and your sessions carry over onto the roster player — nothing is lost and nothing is duplicated. Say no and the two stay separate.
You set up the team
Set Up a Team from the Team tab. When you create it, RinkTally offers to add your existing player to the new roster with their tracking history intact — you just give them a jersey number. You become the coach of that team.
There's also an Email Your Coachbutton that drafts a message suggesting they set up the team themselves, if you'd rather they ran it.
Your account
Settings holds your email address, your plan, sign-out and account deletion. Deleting is permanent. If you subscribed, cancel in the App Store or Play Store first — deleting the app or your account doesn't stop the billing.
